Howard County’s First Dedicated Indoor Pickleball Facility Now Open
Dill Dinkers Pickleball officially opens its doors to the community on Thursday, November 17, 2022. Located at 9179 Red Branch Road in Columbia, the first dedicated indoor pickleball facility in Howard County features six courts, a café, ball machine, and state of the art reservation system in a 15,000 square foot facility.
“My husband Will and I became avid pickleball players in the summer of 2021, as we moved into the fall and winter, we struggled to find places to play. Opening this facility was a way to share our love of pickleball with the community, and offer a place to play year-round,” said Denise Richards, Co-Founder and Director of Sales. “We aspire to create an atmosphere that inspires fun, learning, healthy competition, and lifelong friendships.”
In addition to memberships, Dill Dinkers will offer clinics, leagues, private court time and is available to rent as an event venue for corporate and private events, led by Brian Lloyd, Director of Operations and Events. Brian is a PPR certified pickleball pro and trainer and has run successful pickleball leagues, clinics, and camps for kids, as well as pickleball events for the community. “My whole life has been surrounded with teaching, coaching & playing sports; it is my passion and what I enjoy,” said Lloyd.
“Pickleball is such an accessible and fun sport. It can be a great way to bring people together, for teambuilding or a birthday party,” said Richards. “We can include beginner lessons and paddles with an event rental, so participants can learn the sport when they arrive, and no one is left out of the fun.”
Dill Dinkers also offers advertising opportunities within the facility for businesses and organizations looking to reach a large, active, audience focused on healthy living. “We can accommodate up to 300 people per day, so businesses will be seen by a large number of players every week,” Richards continued.
