Deanna Laureto is an entrepreneur, community builder, and lifelong athlete whose passion for pickleball led her to bring the Dill Dinkers brand to Michigan. She is also a seasoned pharmaceutical marketing leader with over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and brand strategy, bringing a unique blend of strategic thinking, operational discipline, and people-first leadership to her entrepreneurial ventures.

Deanna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, with concentrations in Finance and Economics, and an MBA in Management and Marketing from Wayne State University. Her professional career spans leadership roles across the pharmaceutical industry, where she has helped build and launch brands, translate insights into strategy, and drive growth in highly complex and competitive markets.

Deanna and her husband, Grant, began their business journey in 2016 through local real estate investments, building a foundation rooted in long-term vision, teamwork, and shared values. As their desire to create something meaningful together grew, they sought a business that would not only thrive financially but also strengthen community and promote healthy, active lifestyles for families of all ages.

In 2024, Deanna discovered pickleball and quickly fell in love with the sport’s accessibility, competitiveness, and social connection. As her passion for the game grew, so did her desire for more opportunities to play and connect with the pickleball community. In early 2025, a series of events led Deanna and Grant to explore Dill Dinkers. While vacationing in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, a hurricane unexpectedly redirected them to a Dill Dinkers location in Satellite Beach—a moment that made it instantly clear this was the right brand, business model, and community-driven opportunity to bring to Michigan.

Deanna is dedicated to creating welcoming, high-quality pickleball spaces that promote connection, competition, and community. She is passionate about building an environment where beginners feel comfortable, experienced players feel challenged, and families can spend time together around a sport that truly brings people together.

Deanna resides in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, with her husband, Grant, their three children, and their three dogs. Outside of her entrepreneurial work, she enjoys traveling with her family, spending time at their lake house, playing and watching sports, and volunteering with a local animal shelter. Above all, she is driven by the opportunity to build something lasting—for her family and for the pickleball community she proudly serves.

“Pickleball has a unique way of bringing people together—across generations, skill levels, and backgrounds. Bringing the Dill Dinkers vision to the Detroit area isn’t just about building courts; it’s about creating a place where community, connection, and an active lifestyle come together. I’m passionate about building something that families, friends, and players of all levels can truly call home.”

Grant Mayer: (313) 636-DINK (3465) ext. 40002

Grant Mayer holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas A&M University. He is an automotive industry veteran with nearly 27 years of experience in product development roles focused on customer-facing features and functions at Automotive OEMs. He has made a career of understanding the customer and providing feature performance that meets and or exceeds expectations. His experience and success in translating customer wants and needs into analytical targets and actionable improvements are key to any customer-facing industry. His analytical and pragmatic approach complements Deanna’s extensive experience in sales, marketing, and brand strategy, creating a powerful duo.

Grant’s love for pickleball started in the 1980s while living in Washington state. Having the birthplace of pickleball less than 100 miles away, Grant regularly played pickleball in grade school physical education classes, recess, and with neighborhood friends. Moving to Texas in the early 1990s, pickleball was no longer easily accessible and was replaced with other sports. The recent surge in popularity of pickleball has given him a chance to reengage in the fun and unique experience the sport offers.

Grant’s entrepreneurial experience consists of residential rental properties and home renovations for resale. Looking to try something new, he and his wife, Deanna, investigated several franchising opportunities, but none quite fit until Dill Dinkers. For Grant, the opportunity to take a sport he loved in his childhood, expand its presence in Michigan, and have a great, well-thought-out business model to use for its basis made Dill Dinkers the perfect franchise opportunity.

Grant lives in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan, with his wife, Deanna, their three kids, and three dogs. Grant is a lifelong lover of sport and the outdoors. He enjoys playing pickleball, soccer, biking, hiking, and watching most other sports. In recent years, he coached his youngest child’s soccer team. He enjoys traveling and spending time at the lake with family and friends.

“Pickleball provides experiences unlike any other sport. Its ability to welcome people of all ages, skill levels, and athleticism provides a unique opportunity for multiple generations to have fun playing together on one court. The sheer fun of the game and its good-spirited brand of competitiveness make you almost forget you are getting exercise. And its ability to build community and friendships is unsurpassed. I’m excited and blessed to have the opportunity to bring the Dill Dinkers brand of pickleball to Michigan!”

FActs About Our Franchise Program

We’re looking for pickleball enthusiasts and entrepreneurs who are passionate about the sport and eager to be at the forefront of this sporting revolution in their community.  Our regional developer franchise model is designed for entrepreneurs who want to build out a territory of Dill Dinkers locations and existing multi-unit franchise operators looking to diversify their portfolio, with a fun concept in the fastest growing sport in America.

We provide a turn-key program with fully designed prototypical drawings, a learning management system to train your teams and keep them current, generous territories with a marketing playbook to build your customer base, and a pickleball concept with a streamlined customer experience and leading program offerings.

At Dill Dinkers, we believe in simplicity and player satisfaction. Our state-of-the-art court reservation system ensures a smooth and cash-free process for our players. As pickleball enthusiasts ourselves, we know exactly what players seek in a club. That’s why we’ve curated a welcoming environment tailored to both newcomers and seasoned players, offering programs that cater to different skill levels. With a focus on safety, comfort, and fun, our club inspires learning, healthy competition, and an active lifestyle.

For our single-club franchise you’ll need $100,000 liquid and a net worth of $500,000.  For our Regional Developer franchise, you’ll need $250,000 liquid and a net worth of $1M.  While we don’t offer financing, we have a vendor partner ready to work with you to support your financing needs.

As a Dill Dinkers Regional Developer, you’ll open your own “flagship” location in a protected territory.  Then, after opening your first club, you can meet your development schedule by opening additional units, as well as having independent franchises open in the market. This limits the amount of capital you may need to deploy and creates an additional revenue stream as we will compensate you for any locations that open in the territory including a percentage of the ongoing sales, creating a tremendous economic platform for growth and success.

We estimate the initial investment to open a single-club Dill Dinkers franchise to be between $368,228 – $710,303 depending on the size of the location, number of courts, and the condition of the space.  The initial franchise fee is $50,000 and the continuing royalty is 8% of your sales.  We do not have a compulsory brand fund contribution at this time.

We estimate the initial investment to become a Regional Developer to be between $167,300 to $882,400 depending on how large your territory is and if you locate your office/training center in your flagship location or independently.  If you are one of our first 10 Regional Developers to sign an agreement, the initial franchise fee is $100,000 for a territory of 1M population, and your compensation will be equal to 50% of the initial franchise fee for any single-club locations and 50% of the ongoing royalties collected.

We anticipate it will take between 90 and 180 days to open your Dill Dinkers Club after you sign your franchise agreement.  We have successfully opened our three locations in less than 90 days from signing each lease and we will help you open as quickly as possible.   This will depend on how long it takes to find a qualified location.  Our national brokers will assist you at no cost to you.  It will also depend on the condition of the space and whether you will need to obtain a building permit versus just remodeling the space.

9 streams OF REVENUE

As a Dill DinkersTM Pickleball franchisee, you can earn revenue from a streamlined, attractive, and well-thought-out suite of services that create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for your customers. Our business model includes nine streams of revenue which help you maximize your profits on and off the court. These revenue streams consist of Annual Membership, Court Rental, Lessons, Clinics, Leagues, Parties and Private Events, the Pro Shop, Gift Cards, and Business Advertising. It’s important to remember that your audience is not limited to B2C, we have government entities that hold leagues at our club, non-profits as well as for-profit organizations that advertise with us, and businesses, government agencies, and individuals who rent our space for parties.
